hubsell segments can be understood as a container for data, no matter if you source it yourself from LinkedIn, import it via a CSV file or request it from hubsell. In this article we want to take a closer look at the latter method.
segment creation
go to segments
click plus icon on the right to create a new segment
name it accordingly
select type hubsell sourced
choose the amount of prospects you want to be sourced (minimum number of prospects should be 100)
click next
So far, so good. Now you'll be forwarded to the segment criteria page, where you'll be asked to define the research criteria for your request.
segmentation criteria
By defining your research criteria, you will instruct hubsell's research team on the group of prospects you want us to source. Following you will find a brief explanation of the criteria:
company criteria
In here you define the companies you want us to source.
company industry
The economic sector which you want us to source prospects from. You can find a complete listing of all available industries in here
company size
The number of employees working for a company, ranging from self-employed to 10.000+.
Please note, that larger companies typically employ a higher amount of decision makers relevant for your outreach strategy, while smaller companies typically employ a smaller amount of decision makers and thus it might be advisable to adjust the amount of prospects sourced for your segment accordingly.
company country
The region you want us to source prospects from. For closer targeting on counties or cities, please provide a list in the briefing.
contact criteria
In here you define the contacts you want us to source.
contact seniority
The professional rank of an employee held within a company ranging from unpaid to owner. You can find a complete listing of all available seniorities in here
contact department
The profession of a prospect executed in day-to-day business. You can find a complete listing of all available departments in here
Please note that by combining seniority and department you will define the position of your prospects. If you, for example, select seniority: Director and department: Business Development the delivered results will be Head of Business Development or everything in its vicinity
contacts per company
The amount of prospects you want to source per company. Please keep in mind, that for larger companies it's necessary to source higher amounts of prospects.

segment briefing
Last but not least you can finetune your segment by giving detailed instructions in the briefing. Here you can for example exclude specific subregions you don't want us to source from or include exotic job titles you want to receive results for.

After you've created your segment, don't forget to click save segment. After that our team will check your segment and come back to you if there are any questions.
Please keep in mind, that hubsell will not accept rejections of delivered prospects based on criteria that is not listed in the segment, so please make sure to be as precise as possible in defining your segment.
contact exclusion
If you want to exclude prospects or companies from sourcing (for example because you already were in touch with those in the past and don't want to reach out again) there are multiple ways to to achieve that.
companies
Companies can be excluded by adding them to the suppression list. A step-by-step guide on this topic can be found in this article
prospects
Prospects are best excluded by sharing a list of all prospects as a CSV file with us by dragging and dropping it in intercom. Please note, that this list must include the following information:
full name
title
company name
domain
Please do not share the email addresses for those prospects with us, due to reasons of GDPR.
account targeting
If you want to target specific companies, you can share a list of those companies as a CSV file with us by dragging and dropping it in intercom. Please note, that this list must include the following information:
company name
domain
